PAP WINES
Step into the world of PAP Wines, where winemakers Áron Molnár and Karina Vissonova have created a winery like no other. Nestled in the heart of Hungary, PAP Wines is an artisan winery with a profound connection to nature and a passion for crafting exceptional “vins de garage” style wines.
In 2014, Áron and Karina’s winemaking journey began when they stumbled upon an old wine press-house on the slopes of Mount Saint George, also known as Szent György-hegy. It was here that they uncovered the hidden potential of this remarkable wine-growing area. While Karina pursued her design studies in Copenhagen, Áron, with his background as a devoted cook and a natural creative spirit, eagerly embraced the art of winemaking.
From the very start, their commitment to organic and later biodynamic farming practices set them apart. Their mission extends beyond producing exceptional wines; it’s about leaving the land better, cleaner, and healthier than they found it. In 2017, they embraced low intervention winemaking, using minimal to no added sulfites in their wines, a testament to their dedication to crafting authentic, low-intervention, and completely natural wines.
PAP Wines boasts a unique and vibrant selection of wines that beautifully capture the essence of the Szent György-hegy. This distinctive terroir, with its basalt-rich volcanic soil, generous slopes overlooking Lake Balaton, and preserved biodiversity, imparts a character to their vineyards that is truly one-of-a-kind.
PAP’s dedication to crafting exceptional wines is evident in their small selection of up to 8000 bottles, each handcrafted with care and precision. Their wines are matured in oak barrels on lees, remaining unfiltered at bottling, allowing the true essence of the terroir to shine through.PAP Wines is not just a winery; it’s a testament to the power of passion, nature, and a deep love for the land. If you’re a wine lover seeking something truly special, the wines of PAP are an exquisite journey into the heart of Hungarian winemaking.
