PELLE
Pelle Winery stands as a testament to family dedication and a profound commitment to crafting exceptional, organic wines. Established in 2007, this family-run enterprise meticulously tends to 13 parcels spread across seven vineyards blessed with volcanic soil, resulting in wines that boast a unique and distinctive flavor profile.
At the heart of Pelle Winery is the fervent dedication to organic cultivation and manual labor, ensuring that only the finest grapes are harvested for their wines. With a dedicated focus on quality, they allocate a significant portion of their production to sparkling wines, showcasing a diverse range from dry whites to sumptuously rich sweet wines, catering to a wide array of palates.
Pelle Pince, the brainchild of Laszlo and Marriana, epitomizes their passion for the Mád region and its exquisite grape varieties. While Laszlo’s background may not have been rooted in viticulture, his unwavering ardor for the region and traditional Hungarian products propelled him on a continuous quest to delve deeper into the region’s traditional methods of winemaking.
Their emphasis lies in meticulously selecting individual vineyard plots encircling the Pelle house just beyond the village of Mád. Rigorous vineyard selection ensures that only the finest wines emerge, with top-tier offerings sourced from the highest graded sites, a classification system rooted in history dating back to 1772.
The essence of their winemaking philosophy lies in organic viticulture, drawing grapes from the esteemed vineyards of Szent Tamás, Danczka, Sarkad, Újhegy, Betsek, and Király. These vineyards boast soils rich in volcanic rocks, primarily composed of rhyolite and its tuffs, infusing the wines with a distinct terroir-driven character.
Pelle Winery’s unwavering commitment to quality, organic practices, and a profound respect for the region’s heritage continues to yield exceptional wines, each bottle a testament to their dedication and passion for winemaking excellence.
