Lenkey Húsz Év Után Sárgamuskotály — which translates to “Sárgamuskotály After Twenty Years” — is a bold, taut Hungarian dry wine from Tokaj that captivates from the first inhale. Waves of lush floral perfume, frangipani, and hints of linalool rise from the glass, while a sharp, electrifying acidity charges the palate.
On tasting, lemon drizzled with honey, wild strawberry, clementine, orange, basil, shiso, and cardamom unfold across a long, commanding finish. Ten months in oak, plus an extraordinary 19 years of bottle aging, have honed its tension and structure, creating a wine that is vibrant, precise, and unforgettable.
Lenkey has explored the hidden potential of Sárgamuskotály, a variety usually vinified as light, aromatic, reductive wine. Here, it reaches new heights, revealing a striking, powerful expression of Tokaj Hegyalja. Best enjoyed between 2024 and 2040 — a wine that truly makes its presence felt.
