Sziegl Cellar comes to life through Petra and Balázs, a duo whose passion for Hajós-Bajai’s vineyards began in 2012 with a humble gift: a small parcel of land from an elderly farming couple. From that spark, they’ve built a vineyard and cellar that reflects their hands-on dedication and deep respect for the land.

From the very beginning, Petra and Balázs worked side by side, expanding their vineyard to nearly 9 hectares while embracing organic and natural farming practices. Their philosophy is simple: let the grapes express the land. Every decision in the vineyard and cellar is guided by this principle, allowing nature to shape the wines with minimal interference.

Kadarka holds a special place in their hearts. Both young and historic vines—some more than 85 years old, saved and nurtured by Petra and Balázs—form the backbone of the cellar. Alongside Kadarka, they cultivate Kövidinka, Olaszrizling, Kékfrankos, Hárslevelű, Traminer, and Riesling, crafting wines that are layered, expressive, and unmistakably tied to Hajós-Bajai. Each bottle is numbered, reflecting the artisanal care poured into every vintage.

The Sziegl Cellar experience is rooted in tradition. From their press-house, nestled in Hajós—the heart of the region’s wine cellars—to the meticulous work in the vineyard, every step honors the heritage of the area. With no additives or interventions, the wines capture the essence of the land and the vision of the winemakers themselves.
