GÉZA LENKEY - Lenkey Pincészet

Tokaj-Hegyalja

If you’ve tasted a Lenkey wine, you’ve met Tokaj—but the story of the man behind it is even more compelling. Géza isn’t just a winemaker—he’s the guardian of a landscape, a storyteller through bottles, and someone who believes that great wine takes time, care, and a little bit of daring.

Lenkey Winery started in 1999 as his father’s dream. After his father passed away in 2001, Géza took over a modest 10-hectare vineyard in Mád, stepping into a world he hadn’t fully imagined for himself. Together with his siblings Krisztina and Csaba, he traded city life for hands-on vineyard work, learning the land’s rhythms and discovering a philosophy that would define Lenkey wines: patience, precision, and total respect for the vineyard.

Since 2005, the estate has been fully chemical-free, letting the grapes—and the soil—express themselves naturally. Géza experiments constantly, yet always in service of the terroir. In the ancient 15th-century underground cellars, temperature and humidity work like invisible partners, coaxing wines into layers of depth and complexity.

What sets Géza apart is his playful curiosity and dedication to discovering new ways to express Tokaj’s unique character. His wines are thoughtful, expressive, and endlessly intriguing—sometimes playful, sometimes austere, but always unmistakably Tokaji.

For Géza, Lenkey Winery isn’t about quantity. It’s about devotion. Every bottle is a reflection of heritage, care, and a simple philosophy: Love my Vine.”
